What to Expect on Game Day
Your first Little Dribblers session will be fun and welcoming! Here’s what to expect:
What to Bring
- Your little dribbler in their team kit (collected first session)
- Comfortable shoes - boots available for purchase at venue
- Shin pads - highly recommended for safety
- Drink and snack for halftime energy boost
- A big smile and lots of encouragement!
On Game Day
- Arrive early: 10-20 minutes before kickoff
- Check in: Find field assignment at the green vehicle
- Game length: 30 minutes (2 x 12-15 minute halves)
- Referee managed: Professional refs keep games fun and fair
- No coaches needed - just participation and fun!
For Parents
- Join them on field initially to help them settle in
- Step back gradually once they’re comfortable playing
- Best starting spot: In the goal is often easiest!
- Support all players and show respect for the referee
- No dogs please - for safety and field maintenance
Weather Policy
- Decision time: Cancellations decided by 9am on game day
- How you’ll know: Check Facebook page or your email
- Full term: 8+ sessions counts as a complete term
- Credits offered: If fewer than 8 sessions due to weather
Age Groups & Times
All sessions run for 30 minutes with staggered start times:
- Very Little (0-2 years): ~9:30am start - FREE!
- Little (2-3 years): ~10:00am start
- Middle (4-5 years): ~10:30am start
- Big (6-7 years): ~11:00am start
These times are an indication only. Times may vary at each venue and are confirmed before gameday.
Remember
- Participation encouraged, never forced
- Standing on the field is a win!
- They’ll join in when they’re ready
- Every child develops at their own pace
- Fun is the main objective
